Elyza P. Eshaghi is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization department and primarily carries out her practice in the Riverside office. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and all courts of the State of California.

Ms. Eshaghi graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008. She received her law degree from Chapman University School of Law in May 2013. While attending law school, Ms. Eshaghi was an executive board member of the Moot Court Honor Board. She competed in numerous competitions, including St. John’s University School of Law’s Duberstein Moot Court Competition, which is the largest single site appellate moot court competition in the nation. Ms. Eshaghi was amongst the top advocates in her class, placing as a quarterfinalist. In addition, Ms. Eshaghi was a Merit Scholarship recipient and served as a student ambassador.

During Ms. Eshaghi’s third year of law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Erithe A. Smith (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California). After graduating from law school, Ms. Eshaghi worked pro bono for the Public Interest Law Center on the Debtor Assistance Project (DAP) and for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County.

After joining Shulman Hodges & Bastian in March 2014, Ms. Eshaghi has remained active in the community. In addition to her continuing involvement with DAP, Ms. Eshaghi is committed to her volunteer efforts at the Orangewood Children and Family Law Center and Chapman Law School’s High School Outreach Program. She is also a member of the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association, the Orange County Woman Lawyer’s Association, the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum, the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, and the James T. King Bankruptcy Inn of Court.
